The Mission behind Shrinking Divorce is to finally put divorce coaching on the map, and to make it more accessible, holistic and integrated.
Because divorce is not just about the law, the money, the kids, or the house. It’s about all of it. That’s why at Shrinking Divorce we believe that the only thing better than one divorce coach, is two expert coaches working with you to get through your divorce, grow your bank account, magnifying the time you have with your children and maximize your future happiness!
My Story
I like to describe coaching as what I never knew I needed. Tough love delivered by a skilled professional that kept me on track through my divorce and beyond. A more targeted, direct and challenging approach than therapy, but vitally as important. When I discovered divorce coaching amazing things started to happen while in the midst of my own divorce. Instead of banging my head against a wall asking “How did I get here?” I began asking myself, “Where am I going?” Instead of the relentless rumination of “How could this happen to me?” I began considering “How can this happen for me?” And, gradually, noticeable shifts started to happen. My circumstances became more tolerable. I got less scared about money, more career oriented, and more confident in my role as a single parent. The challenging circumstances around my divorce began to shrink, while the possibility of the life of my dreams became magnified. In a nutshell? Not only did I get from A to B, the definition of coaching, but my plan B started looking better than the life I had left behind.
I didn’t stop there. Since my divorce took so much from me, I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands and take advantage of it. One certification after another, and a second masters degree underway, I have found peace by pouring hundreds of hours into helping others just a few chapters behind me. I have noticed common themes amongst my clients: sleepless nights worrying about “ruining the kids,” fear of financial destitution, rumination over past regrets or mistakes, and paralysis when facing an uncertain future. Woven within all of these struggles is the unique opportunity for sustainable personal and professional growth that is most successfully achieved through coaching. If I do my job well, the tools I teach you can be applied to life going forward. If these tools can support a client during what is infamously known as the most stressful life circumstance, second only to death of a loved one, then my clients are more than equipped for what the future holds.
Brand Values
CURIOSITY
If you want better answers, you need to ask better questions. Questions uncover blind spots that deepen awareness of yourself and your situation.
WARMTH
Optimal functioning requires acceptance and a non-judgemental space. Healing is facilitated when we feel welcome because of, not despite, our imperfections.
HUMOR
Humor can help reframe how we see situations, not to mention that laughter was likely an important element missing in your marriage.
APPROACHABILITY
There is enough unknown in a divorce. At the very least, know that there is a place you can turn for answers and support.
